Established in 2014, the College of Science is comprised of four dynamic and interrelated departments: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Medical Laboratory Science. The Department of Physics is further divided into two branches: general physics and medical physics. This structure allows for an extensive exploration of both the underlying physical principles and their applications in medicine. The chemistry department examines the complexity of reactions and chemicals, while the biology department focuses on the complex functioning of living organisms. The Department of Medical Laboratory Science trains students in key techniques for diagnosis and investigation of diseases. Together, these departments provide a comprehensive, interdisciplinary education, preparing students to meet future scientific challenges.

College of Science works to guarantee an appropriate environment for its students and offer them most chances for further studying and research. The college also directs its students at how they scientifically think, work and make connections with local and international establishments. The college is committed to carry out its full ethical and legal duties to guarantee full respect and confidence in the field and prepare successful individuals to serve their nation and people.

Mission

The College’s main mission of all its department of Medical Laboratory Science (MLS), Biology, Chemistry and General and Applied Physics is to offer students all specialized learning programs to prepare them scientifically and educationally for their future occupation to conduct their professional learning outcomes for governmental and non-governmental sectors. Strategic Goals College of Science works to strengthen and build a confident environment for its students to well adapting with all departments and their programs and the main college’s goals are to focus on: Making the classroom and laboratory as the most important place to learn. Enabling students to critically think as the core of the college’s superior education so that students could develop themselves to solve problems by resorting to use the available and appropriate scientific methods and to their effectively engagement with local academic community. Recruiting and maintaining well qualified diverse students that are interested in researching and to work for promoting the wide range of technology usage. Innovative learning, experimentation and evaluation. Adopting internationalization standards such as Bologna Process in most departments.

History

It started with the Department of Biology in 2012 and then the Departments of Physics and Chemistry were established in Later in the same year, an order was issued to open a College of Science consisting of these three departments. In 2019, the Department of Medical Laboratory Science was opened and currently the college consists of four departments. Although in 2017-2018, both the departments of biology and physics were suspended, but later in 2021-2022, both departments were reactivated.
